The soul-hop production of BREAKTHROUGH, is the story of the ARTIVIST Princess of Controversy and her battle against becoming a “starving artist". After quitting her 9-5 for a chance to become "famous" by producing a mega-reality show called "Starving Artist To SuperStar", Princess struggles with daily life issues of an artist and past demons she thought she had locked away forever. Faced with the deadline fast approaching she is hit with the fate that she may not "make it" and contemplates what she will do if she doesn't succeed as an artist. Then she meets DJ, and he could possibly be everything she ever needed OR.... just a dream, like everything else in her life! Could this be the breakthrough she's been waiting for or will she be forced to join the 9-5'ers for the rest of her life and give up her artistic dreams of changing the world?...And on LOVE??? In one week, any and every thing you could possibly imagine happens to her in this true-to-life story of life's challenges. From love to hate, job security to insecurity, subtle racism& classism to spiritual vs religious choices, Princess is surrounded with the enormous responsibility of creating in this chaos! Will she breakthrough this repetitive cycle?

Please note that parking is an EXTREME challenge in this area. Most of the parking is residential and the parking that is available is 2 hours (the play is 2.25-2.5 hrs). It is HIGHLY recommended that you take the metro to Eastern Market to avoid any delay in getting to the theater. We WILL start on time and don't want you to miss anything!!!
